Councilman Barry Goldstein
Councilman Barry Goldstein and his wife, Martha, started visiting Seabrook Island in 2011 and enjoyed the Island so much that they purchased a lot and built a home here in 2012. After a few years as part-time residents, they decided to relocate to Seabrook Island, and became full-time residents in 2015. Originally from New England, Barry and Martha spent the previous 20 years living in South Florida and raising their two sons.
Barry owned his own engineering firm in Miami, Florida and has practiced Civil-Geotechnical Engineering for over 30 years. His professional experience specifically includes issues affecting the Town, such as flooding, road reconstruction and maintenance, site development, drainage, beach re-nourishment, water and wastewater treatment systems. After selling his business in 2012, he now consults on a part time basis. He is also a Member of the Board Directors for the Seabrook Island Green Space Conservancy. Councilman Goldstein was first elected to Town Council in November 2019 and was reelected in November 2021. He currently serves as chair of the town's Public Works Committee. He has also been assigned the role of Logistics Official under the town’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan. Town Service
