Mayor Bruce Kleinman
Mayor Bruce Kleinman has a longstanding relationship with Seabrook Island. He and his wife, Ava, have vacationed on Seabrook Island since the 1980’s. They purchased a lot on Jenkins Point in 2003 and became full time residents with the construction of their home in 2013. Mayor and Mrs. Kleinman lived in Morristown, New Jersey for 28 years prior to their move, where they both practiced law.
Mayor Kleinman was a commercial real estate attorney for almost 30 years, including at several of the most prestigious law firms in New Jersey. His practice focused on representation of developers and investors in all aspects of the real estate business, particularly in large, complex acquisitions and financings. He negotiated high-value business transactions, often including critical tax issues that factored into the structuring of the deal. During his tenure in New Jersey, he and his team completed some of the largest commercial real estate transactions in the State. Mayor Kleinman devoted substantial time and expertise to several charitable organizations while maintaining his law practice. Many of his most rewarding experiences arose out of his 20 years of service on the Board of Trustees of Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey (CPNJ), including five years as its President. CPNJ is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities. At the time of his departure, CPNJ served more than 1,200 families each year, including more than 600 infants receiving therapy services in their own homes, and 150 children attending the agency’s two schools (one of which was constructed, licensed and opened under his leadership). During his Presidency, the organization’s annual revenue grew from $19 million to $25 million. At Seabrook Island, Mayor Kleinman has served on SIPOA and Club committees. He was elected Mayor in November 2023. Mayor Kleinman holds a B.A. degree with Highest Distinction from the University of Rhode Island, and J.D. and Masters of Law (LL.M) degrees from Georgetown University Law Center. Town Service
