Councilman Gordon Weis
Councilman Gordon Weis was born and raised in North Dakota. He graduated from the University of North Dakota, where he also met his wife, Mollie. They were married 10 days before he left for Vietnam. In May 2024, they will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary.
Councilman Weis and his wife both retired in January 2009 and moved to downtown Chicago. In May of 2018, they re-retired to Seabrook Island. Their long-term goal is to remain here on Seabrook Island until the time comes to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. While in Chicago, Councilman Weis was president of his 618-unit condo association board for 7 years. In this role, he worked with fellow board members to achieve the association's short- and long-term goals. His background includes retirement/pension planning, securities, and computers. After retiring in 2009, he started a business where he provided computer communication services for 60+ condo associations in downtown Chicago. That business was liquidated in 2022. As a member of Town Council, Councilman Weis is committed to working with the mayor and other council members to establish open lines of communication between residents and elected officials in an effort to better represent constituents and make Seabrook Island an even better place to live and enjoy life. Councilman Weis was elected to Town Council in November 2023. Town Service
