Town Emergency OrdinancesSeabrook Island Town Council adopted ten emergency ordinances (and one amendment) during the COVID-19 pandemic. By law, an emergency ordinance requires a two-thirds vote of Town Council and may be adopted by a single reading. An emergency ordinance automatically expires on the 61st day following adoption, unless repealed earlier by Town Council.

Town Executive OrdersMayor John Gregg declared the existence of a State of Emergency within the Town of Seabrook Island on March 17, 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, the Mayor issued a total of 8 executive orders related to the ongoing State of Emergency.

State Executive OrdersAs a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Henry McMaster declared the existence of a State of Emergency within the State of South Carolina on March 13, 2020. Between March 13, 2021, and May 22, 2021, the Governor issued a total of 57 executive orders related to the ongoing State of Emergency.
