January 4, 2018
The National Weather Service has reported that temperatures are expected to drop below freezing by 7:00 pm on Thursday evening. The low temperatures on Thursday night into Friday morning will be in the mid-teens. Friday’s temperature is expected rise above freezing between 11:00 am and noon. Friday’s high temperature is forecasted to be in upper 30’s with full sunshine, before falling back into the teens on Friday night.
Charleston County Offices will be closed tomorrow, including all public libraries, landfill and recycling facilities. The Charleston County Public Works Department announced that all bridges are in “pretty good shape,” and that work on secondary roads will begin Friday morning.
Town of Seabrook Island offices will be closed on Friday, January 5th, and will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday, January 8th.
We continue to encourage all residents to drive only when absolutely necessary, particularly when the temperatures start to drop, as roads are expected to refreeze during the overnight hours.
