On August 1st, the Town of Seabrook Island launched a new mosquito treatment request tool on our website, giving residents the ability to log requests electronically. To access the treatment request form, please click on the “Services” menu, and then click on “Mosquito Control” from the drop-down list (Direct Link: Mosquito Control). The form is located at the bottom of the Mosquito Control page.
By providing your name and address in the treatment request form, we will be able to better track the number and location of all mosquito complaints. Residents may also sign up to receive e-mail alerts when ground and aerial sprayings are scheduled to occur. This is one of many new enhancements that we are pleased to offer our residents through our new website. Residents without internet access may call Seabrook Island Town Hall at (843) 768-9121 to report a mosquito complaint. Charleston County Mosquito Control provides mosquito control treatment in the Town of Seabrook Island on an as-needed basis. The town and county work together to schedule ground and aerial treatments as conditions warrant. NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION TOWN OF SEABROOK ISLAND, SC NOVEMBER 5, 2019 NOTICE: THE CANDIDATE FILING DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 12:00 PM ON WED. SEPTEMBER 11TH DUE TO HURRICANE DORIAN NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Charleston County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will conduct a General Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 to fill (1) one seat for the office of Mayor, and (4) four Town Council seats. This is a nonpartisan, at large municipal election. Election results will be determined by the plurality method. Term of office will expire on November 2021. The Town of Seabrook Island will have one (1) Utility Commissioner Seat to fill for a (6) year term to expire November 2025. The last day that persons may register to be eligible to vote in this election is October 5, 2019. If submitting a registration by mail application, it must be post marked no later than October 5, 2019. A Statement of Economic Interest form must be filed electronically (on-line) at http://ethics.sc.gov prior to filing a Statement of Candidacy and or Petition. At 9:00 a.m., on Election Day, the Charleston County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will begin the examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes. On Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 9:20 a.m., the Charleston County Board of Canvassers will hold a public hearing at the elections office, 4367 Headquarters Road, North Charleston, SC, to determine the validity of all ballots challenged in this election, and certify election results. 2319 Seabrook Island Road, Seabrook Island, SC The Town of Seabrook Island is pleased to announce that it will again sponsor a musical performance by the Charleston Symphony Orchestra on Sun. September 22nd at 4:00 pm. The performance will take place on the Lake House lawn, located at 2319 Seabrook Island Road.
The 47-piece Orchestra will be under the direction of Ken Lam, who will conduct the Masterworks portion of the program, and Yuriy Bekker, who will conduct the POPS. The program will feature a wide range of outstanding music, including pieces written by Beethoven, Dvorak and Strauss, as well as more contemporary music such as the Fiddler on the Roof Medley. Those of you who were able to join us for the Orchestra's concert on Seabrook Island in 2017 will appreciate what an exciting and entertaining program this will be! The event is free and attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Please note that parking at the Lake House will be limited, so carpooling and alternate modes of transportation, such as walking, biking and LSV's, are recommended. A limited number of gate passes will be available for non-residents on a first-come, first served basis. Gate passes may be picked up at Seabrook Island Town Hall (2001 Seabrook Island Road) during regular business hours. Please note that Town Hall will not be open on the day of the concert. In the event of rain, the performance will take place at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, which is located at 3871 Betsy Kerrison Parkway on Johns Island. |
