Mask Ordinance Extended through October 22nd; Masks Required on all Boardwalks During its monthly meeting on August 25th, Seabrook Island Town Council adopted Emergency Ordinance 2020-05, which repealed and replaced the provisions of its two prior emergency ordinances. Under the provisions of Emergency Ordinance 2020-05, the town:
Persons found guilty of violating the requirements of Emergency Ordinance 2020-05 are subject to fines ranging from $50.00 to $500.00 per violation, plus required statutory assessments. Businesses found guilty violating the ordinance shall be subject to fines ranging from $100.00 to $500.00 per violation, plus required assessments. In addition to fines, business establishments found guilty of violating the ordinance may also have their business license revoked or suspended. Each violation shall be treated as a separate offense. The requirements of Emergency Ordinance 2020-05 were effective immediately upon adoption, and will remain in effect until October 25th, unless repealed or extended by Town Council. If you or a loved one are experiencing a fever, cough, shortness of breath or other symptoms of COVID-19, you are encouraged to speak with a provider and, if necessary, be referred for a COVID-19 test. PUBLIC NOTICE Charleston County Mosquito Control has scheduled a spray truck for Zone "K2," which includes the Town of Seabrook Island. The treatment is scheduled to take place during the overnight hours beginning after 11:00 PM on Sunday, August 30th, and will be completed prior to 7:00 AM on Monday, August 31st (weather permitting).

The Town of Seabrook Island Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee is currently accepting applications for FY 2021 State Accommodations Tax (ATAX) funding. Interested applicants must submit a completed application to the Town Clerk by 4:00 pm on Thurs. August 20, 2020. The ATAX Advisory Committee will consider funding requests during its upcoming meeting on Thurs. August 27, 2020 at 1:00 pm, at which time the committee will vote on funding recommendations to Town Council.
State ATAX funds must be used to attract or provide for tourists, and cannot be used for any item that would normally be provided by a county or municipality. Eligible projects include:
For additional information regarding eligible SATAX expenditures, please refer to the SC Department of Revenue’s official advisory opinion contained in SC Revenue Ruling #98-22. A responsible person from the submitting organization must attend the ATAX Advisory Committee meeting on Thurs. August 27, 2020 at 1:00 pm to present the request (limit to five minutes) and to answer questions from committee members. The meeting will be conducted virtually via Zoom. Recommendations made by the ATAX Advisory Committee must be approved by the Seabrook Island Town Council before funds may be committed to the applicant or dispersed by the Town.
