Town of Seabrook Island to Host a Drive-Thru Holiday Party on December 9th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm11/16/2021
Please join us at Seabrook Island Town Hall on Thurs. December 9th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm for our second annual drive-thru Holiday Party! We'll have sweet holiday treats, a drive-thru light display and festive holiday music. Visitors are asked to remain in their vehicles while attending the event. Face coverings are recommended, but not required.
Once again, the town will be collecting new, unwrapped toys in support of Toys for Tots. Toy donations may be dropped off at Seabrook Island Town Hall beginning on Mon. November 29th, and will be collected through the conclusion of the drive-thru Holiday Party. November 12th, due to the presence of water pumping equipment. During these times, Seabrook Island Road will be reduced to a single lane with alternating traffic. Beginning Sunday, November 14th, a portion of the eastbound (outbound) lane of Seabrook Island Road will be closed due to construction of a new turn lane into the future Seafields senior living community. This phase of construction is expected to be completed by Thursday, November 18th (weather permitting). Construction activities between November 14th-18th will take place during the evening and overnight hours (8:00 PM to 6:00 AM). During these times, Seabrook Island Road will be reduced to a single lane with alternating traffic.
Motorists are encouraged to allow additional time if traveling to and from Seabrook Island while workers are present. Drivers should also be prepared to stop when instructed by flaggers. On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, the Town of Seabrook Island conducted a municipal election to fill the positions of Mayor, Town Council Members and Utility Commissioner. The results of the election were certified by the Charleston County Board of Canvassers on Thursday, November 4, 2021, as follows:

The town will host a swearing-in ceremony for Mayor-Elect John Gregg; Town Council Members Jeri Finke, Patricia Fox, Dan Kortvelesy, and Barry Goldstein; and Utility Commissioner Lee Vancini in January of 2022. Additional information on the swearing-in ceremony will be posted at a later date. The Charleston County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will conduct a General Election within the Town of Seabrook Island on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 to fill one (1) seat for the office of Mayor, four (4) Town Council seats, and one (1) seat for the office of Utility Commissioner. This is a nonpartisan, at-large municipal election. Election results for each position will be determined by the plurality method.
The term of office for the Mayor and members of Town Council will begin in January 2022 and expire in January 2024. The term of office for the position of Utility Commissioner will begin in January 2022 and expire in January 2028. Absentee ballots may be obtained from the Charleston County Board of Elections and Voter Registration. Individuals who wish to vote absentee may call (843) 744-8683 or send an email to [email protected] to inquire about the availability of absentee ballots. At 9:00 a.m., on Election Day, the Charleston County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will begin the examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes. This process will take place at the Board of Elections office, 4367 Headquarters Road, North Charleston, SC. Election Certification On Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 9:20 a.m., the Charleston County Board of Canvassers will hold a public hearing at the elections office, 4367 Headquarters Road, North Charleston, SC, to determine the validity of all ballots challenged in this election, and certify election results.
