The Town of Seabrook Island will host a Development Standards Ordinance (DSO) Open House meeting on Mon. August 23rd from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The meeting will take place at Seabrook Island Town Hall, 2001 Seabrook Island Road. During the meeting, attendees will hear a brief overview from the project consultant (PLB Planning Group) about the town’s efforts over the last two years to review and update its DSO, as well as a summary of the goals and objectives of the new ordinance. The town’s Zoning Administrator will present a draft of the town’s new Zoning Map and will summarize the planned transition from the old zoning districts to the new. Following presentations, town officials and the project consultant will be on hand to answer questions and hear feedback from meeting attendees. PUBLIC NOTICE Charleston County Mosquito Control has scheduled a spray truck for Zone "K2," which includes the Town of Seabrook Island. The treatment is scheduled to take place during the overnight hours beginning after 11:00 PM on Wednesday, August 11th, and will be completed prior to 7:00 AM on Thursday, August 12th (weather permitting).
As a reminder, mosquito treatment requests may be submitted at any time through the town's website at https://www.townofseabrookisland.org/mosquito-control.html. August 6th after a member of town staff tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee began displaying symptoms of the virus on Mon. August 2nd and subsequently received a positive test result on Wed. August 4th. The employee was fully vaccinated earlier this year. This is the second time Town Hall has been closed this year due to a positive test result, and the first known instance of "breakthrough" case among a vaccinated member of town staff. Due to the rapid ride of COVID-19 infections across the state, and consistent with recent guidance from the CDC and SCDHEC, the town re-instituted a mask requirement on Mon. August 2nd for all visitors conducting business inside Town Hall, including those who are fully vaccinated. NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION TOWN OF SEABROOK ISLAND, SC NOVEMBER 2, 2021 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Charleston County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will conduct a General Election on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 to fill one (1) seat for the office of Mayor, four (4) Town Council seats, and one (1) seat for the office of Utility Commissioner. This is a nonpartisan, at-large municipal election. Election results for each position will be determined by the plurality method.
