Mayor Ron Ciancio and members of Seabrook Island Town Council wish to extend an invitation to all residents and property owners to attend the town's annual Christmas Drop-In. This year's event will take place on Monday, December 17th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Seabrook Island Town Hall (2001 Seabrook Island Road). Attendees will enjoy free food, refreshments and festive holiday music. This year's theme will be an "Ugly Christmas Sweater Party," so attendees are encouraged to wear their ugliest (or tackiest) holiday sweaters!
As in previous years, the town will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. Donations may be dropped off at Town Hall during the Christmas Drop-In, or anytime between now and December 17th. The Town of Seabrook Island will host its FREE fall shredding event on Friday, October 12th, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The event will be held in the parking lot adjacent to Seabrook Island Town Hall (2001 Seabrook Island Road), and will take place rain or shine.
Attendees are limited to (3) three boxes (copy paper box or smaller) or three bags (kitchen trash bag or smaller) per vehicle. There is no need to remove binders, binder clips, paper clips, staples, rubber bands, or CDs/DVDs prior to shredding. Shredding services will be provided by Shred360. The Town of Seabrook Island is sponsoring an FCC Licensing Class for anyone interested in obtaining an Amateur Radio Technician License. This is the entry level license which gives license holders privileges on all amateur frequencies above 50 Mhz.

Upon successfully completing the exam, attendees will be issued a license by the FCC. Charleston County Government will host a community expo to educate citizens about natural hazards, new flood maps, the importance of flood insurance, and what to do before during and after a disaster.

With South Carolina, as one of the most vulnerable states in the nation to be impacted by hurricanes, emergency preparedness is especially important for residents of barrier island communities. Please plan to attend the Disaster Awareness Day on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Kiawah Island Municipal Center. During the Q&A session, Mayor Ron Ciancio of Seabrook Island and Mayor Craig Weaver of Kiawah Island will be asking the candidates a series of questions on behalf of residents of both jurisdictions. Any resident who wishes to suggest a question for the candidates may do so in advance of the meeting. Questions should be submitted no later than Monday, May 21st.
